Wright-Patterson Air Force Base Mourns Loss of Three Personnel in Tragic Double Murder-Suicide Incident

Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB) is mourning the loss of three of its personnel in a tragic double murder-suicide incident. The base is deeply saddened by the event and extends its thoughts and prayers to the families and loved ones affected. Lt. Gen. Linda Hurry expressed condolences and assured support for the victims' families and co-workers during this difficult time.

The individuals involved in the incident were identified as 1st Lieutenant Jaime Gustitus, Jaymee Prichard, and Jacob Prichard. Gustitus worked in the 711th Human Performance Wing, Jaymee was part of the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, and Jacob was associated with the Air Force Research Laboratory.

Investigations revealed that Jacob killed Jaymee before taking his own life in a parking lot in West Milton. Prior to that, he also broke into Gustitus' apartment and fatally shot her. The three individuals were connected through their work at WPAFB.

Law enforcement agencies from various jurisdictions are collaborating on the investigation, including West Milton Police, Miami County Sheriff’s Office, Sugarcreek Township Police, Huber Heights Police, Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, and the Wright-Patterson Office of Special Investigations.

The tragic incident has deeply impacted the WPAFB community, and efforts are underway to provide support to those affected by the loss. The base is committed to conducting a thorough investigation to understand the circumstances surrounding the double murder-suicide and ensure that the families and colleagues of the victims receive the assistance they need during this challenging time.
