Dancing With the Stars Season 34: Maks Chmerkovskiy's Critique of Jan Ravnik's Mirrorball Trophy Chances

Maks Chmerkovskiy recently shared his thoughts on first-time Dancing With the Stars pro Jan Ravnik's chances of winning the mirrorball trophy. Chmerkovskiy expressed his doubts about Ravnik's skills and criticized his performance with partner Jen Affleck on season 34. Despite earning 32 out of 40 points for their foxtrot during Wicked Night, Chmerkovskiy felt that Ravnik lacked the necessary foundation technique and understanding of the partnership required for the show.
Ravnik, who previously danced with Taylor Swift on The Eras Tour, received mixed reviews from Chmerkovskiy and his wife, Peta Murgatroyd. While Murgatroyd acknowledged Ravnik's learning process as a first-time pro, Chmerkovskiy believed that Ravnik's background as a non-ballroom dancer put him at a disadvantage on the show. Murgatroyd suggested that Ravnik should have started in the troupe to gain more experience in ballroom dancing before becoming a pro.
Despite his competitive dance titles and experience with Swift, Ravnik faced criticism from the judges for his choreography rather than Affleck's dancing. Affleck, on the other hand, expressed excitement about her partnership with Ravnik and their journey on the show. Dancing With the Stars fans can watch the competition on ABC and Disney+ on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET.
