Showghoul: A Taylor Swift-Inspired Halloween Display Celebrating The Life of a Showgirl

Miranda Soukup, a devoted Taylor Swift fan, was inspired by Swift's latest album, The Life of a Showgirl, to create a Halloween display called "Showghoul." With the help of her friend Michael, Soukup designed a stage featuring a skeleton dressed as Swift, complete with a microphone. She also included skeletons of Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce, humorously named the "Killce" brothers, recording their "New Frights" podcast. The display featured skeletons representing people Swift has feuded with, like Scooter Braun and Kanye West.

Soukup and her sister Ali worked on the display in their garage, crafting bone letters, gluing feathers, and dressing the skeletons. They managed to set up the display in their front yard just in time for Swift's album release on October 3. Soukup used items she already owned and sourced additional materials from her local Buy Nothing group, such as headphones, bling earrings, and wood pallets.

To enhance the experience for visitors, Soukup created "Life of a Showghoul" bracelets and laminated bookmarks as takeaways. She is also planning a Halloween night update with a photobooth for trick-or-treaters and other surprises from the album. The response to the display has been overwhelmingly positive, with Swifties visiting to take photos and enjoy the festive atmosphere.

Soukup's display has gained national attention, with Jason Kelce praising it on the New Heights podcast. The community response has been heartwarming, bringing together Swifties and creating a sense of shared joy and camaraderie. The display serves as a reminder of the special bond fans share, even with strangers, through their love for Taylor Swift's music and creativity.
