The last survivor of the tragic Annunciation Church shooting has been discharged from the hospital and reunited with her family. Sophia Forchas, a 12-year-old student who was injured during the shooting incident, has made significant progress in her recovery. She was among the 30 individuals who were shot during Mass on August 27, resulting in the tragic deaths of two of her classmates.
Despite initially being in critical condition after sustaining a gunshot wound to the head, Sophia's condition gradually improved over the following weeks. On September 22, her family announced that she had transitioned from acute care to an inpatient rehabilitation program to continue her therapy. After a month of intensive treatment, Sophia was welcomed home in a heartwarming celebration.
Accompanied by a police motorcade and riding in a limousine, Sophia arrived at her home in Edina to a warm reception from her loved ones.
