Coast Guard Rescue: Three Saved from Boating Incident Near Falmouth

Three individuals were rescued by a Coast Guard helicopter following a boating incident near Falmouth. The helicopter landed on Naushon Island before transporting the victims to Cape Cod Gateway Airport in Hyannis. Hyannis fire ambulances were on standby to transfer the survivors to Cape Cod Hospital. The Coast Guard received a report of a vessel named the "Third Wave," a 30-foot Criss-Craft, that was overdue on its journey from Eel Pond to Naushon. The vessel caught fire, prompting all three occupants to swim to the island, where they sought refuge in a barn. One survivor discovered a radio from their boat washed ashore and used it to request assistance. After spending approximately 30 hours on the island, the survivors were airlifted to Cape Cod Hospital by the Coast Guard helicopter for treatment of burns and hypothermia. Further updates will be provided as they become available.
