Mexican Nationals Arrested in Connection to Texas Woman's Murder: Details of the Case Unfold

Two individuals from Mexico were recently apprehended in connection to the murder of a 43-year-old woman in Texas. Enrique Gomez-Urbina, 21, was arrested by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force and faces charges of first-degree murder and resisting arrest. He is currently under an immigration detainer pending the investigation into the homicide. Gomez-Urbina's accomplice, Jesus Llamas-Yanez, 48, is being extradited back to Mexico as he is wanted by federal authorities in Mexico for a weapons charge.
The victim, identified as Mary Gonzales, was found dead with apparent trauma in a wooded area behind a local tire shop. The Travis County Medical Examiner's office confirmed that she was shot to death. Authorities discovered opened beer bottles, a Glock handgun, and ammunition inside Gomez-Urbina's car when they pulled him over about a mile away from the crime scene after he failed to stop at a stop sign.
Surveillance footage showed a vehicle similar to Gomez-Urbina's near the crime scene an hour before he was stopped by the police. Modelo bottles and a spent cartridge case matching the ammunition found in his car were also found at the scene. Both suspects attempted to flee after the incident but were apprehended by U.S. Marshals Service officials.
The details of Gomez-Urbina's illegal entry into the U.S. remain unclear. He is currently held in the Travis County Jail on a bond of $254,000. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has not responded to inquiries from Fox News Digital regarding the case.
