Unveiling the Epstein Plea Deal: A Closer Look at Alex Acosta's Testimony

The House Oversight committee has made public a transcript of its discussion with Alex Acosta, the former U.S. attorney who orchestrated a controversial plea agreement with Jeffrey Epstein, the disgraced financier. Acosta, who formerly held the position of U.S. attorney for the Southern District of Florida, was questioned by members of the oversight committee regarding the deal he negotiated with Epstein in 2008. This agreement allowed Epstein to avoid federal charges by serving a 13-month jail sentence and pleading guilty to state charges. As part of the deal, Epstein had to register as a sex offender and provide settlements to his victims.
