Waiter Accused of Selling Drugs to Liam Payne Speaks Out About Prison Ordeal

A waiter named Braian Paiz, who is accused of selling drugs to Liam Payne before his death, has spoken out about his experiences behind bars. Paiz claimed that he has been assaulted, burned, and threatened by other inmates while awaiting a trial date. Liam Payne passed away a year ago after falling from a hotel balcony in Argentina, with the cause of death being ruled as 'polytrauma'. A toxicology report revealed traces of cocaine in his system, leading to Paiz's arrest for allegedly selling drugs to the singer.
Paiz has been in prison since January and has faced mistreatment from fellow inmates, who have reportedly inflicted multiple injuries on him. In an interview with Gente Magazine, Paiz described his living conditions in prison as deplorable, stating that he is treated poorly by other inmates. Despite the allegations against him, Paiz has denied taking money for the drugs he provided to Payne and is awaiting a trial date.
The authorities are still reviewing extensive CCTV and mobile phone footage before deciding whether to proceed with a trial against Paiz. If convicted, he could face up to 15 years in prison. Paiz admitted to giving drugs to Payne but expressed regret over the singer's death. His co-accused, hotel cleaner Ezequiel David Pereyra, also spoke out about the circumstances surrounding Payne's passing, alleging that the hotel management turned a blind eye to the singer's drug use.
Pereyra claimed that the hotel failed to act promptly when Payne passed out in the lobby, ultimately leading to his tragic death. The police investigation contradicted some of Pereyra's claims, stating that the ambulance was called once Payne had been taken to his room. The hotel, Casa Sur Palermo, has not responded to the allegations made by Pereyra. The case continues to unfold as authorities gather evidence to determine the next steps in the legal process.
