Seeking Justice: Help Identify Victims of USC Graduate Student Accused of Sexual Assault

The Los Angeles Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in identifying more victims of a University of Southern California graduate student accused of drugging and sexually assaulting women. Sizhe Weng, a 30-year-old Chinese national, allegedly assaulted multiple women between 2021 and 2025 by using intoxicating substances to facilitate the assaults. The specific drug or drugs used were not disclosed, but the effects were described as similar to roofies. Deputy Chief Alan Hamilton mentioned that the number of suspected victims is currently in the mid single figures, with expectations of more victims coming forward.
According to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office, Weng is accused of raping three women by placing incapacitating drugs in their food and/or drinks. Weng currently faces eight charges, including rape, sodomy, and sexual penetration involving drugs or anesthesia. Additional charges are anticipated as more victims step forward. Weng was arrested on Aug. 28 and is being held without bail at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility. His court appearance is scheduled for Jan. 14, 2026, and he pleaded not guilty to all charges on Sept. 2.
If convicted, Weng could face 25 years to life plus 56 years in California state prison and would be required to register as a sex offender for life. District Attorney Nathan Hochman emphasized the importance of reporting any alleged attacks to law enforcement, stating that victims should not have to endure such traumatic experiences. Hochman assured that prosecutors and law enforcement partners are committed to holding the defendant accountable for his actions and urged all victims to come forward and be heard.

Anonymous tips can be reported to Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS (8477) or through the website lacrimestoppers.org.
