Latino Dodgers Fan Faces Discrimination at NLCS Game: A Story of Resilience and Accountability

A Latino Los Angeles Dodgers fan and U.S. Navy veteran, Ricardo Fosado, encountered a troubling incident at American Family Field during Game 2 of the NLCS against the Milwaukee Brewers. Fosado, the lone Dodgers supporter in the crowd, faced taunts and insults from Brewers fans throughout the game. However, things took a disturbing turn when a Brewers fan suggested calling ICE on Fosado, prompting him to assert his citizenship and military service.
The incident was captured on video and shared on social media, drawing attention to the disrespectful behavior of the Brewers fan, identified as Shannon Kobylarczyk. As a result of her actions, Kobylarczyk resigned from her position on the board of Make-A-Wish Wisconsin and was no longer employed by ManpowerGroup following an internal investigation. Both organizations emphasized their commitment to maintaining a culture of respect and accountability.
Fosado expressed his indifference to the consequences faced by the Brewers fan, stating that he did not wish ill upon her but believed in accountability for one's actions. Despite being ejected from the game for swearing at the offending fan, Fosado has requested a refund for his tickets from the Brewers. The team has not yet responded to inquiries regarding the incident. The Dodgers emerged victorious in Game 2, with Game 3 scheduled to take place at Dodger Stadium on October 16.
