Nicki Minaj's Los Angeles Mansion at Risk of Sale Over Unpaid Debt: Inside the Legal Battle with Thomas Weidenmuller

Nicki Minaj and her husband, Kenneth Petty, are facing the risk of losing their Los Angeles mansion due to an unpaid debt of $503,000 owed to Thomas Weidenmuller. Weidenmuller, a security guard who was allegedly assaulted by Petty during one of Minaj's shows in Germany, has requested the court to sell Minaj's 11-bedroom, 16-bathroom mansion in Hidden Hills, California, to recover the money owed.
The mansion, which Minaj purchased for $19.5 million in December 2022, is currently valued at $20 million, with an estimated equity of $6 million after accounting for the mortgage lien and homestead exemption. Weidenmuller's lawyer emphasized that Minaj, with a reported net worth of $150-190 million, has the financial capability to settle the debt but has failed to do so despite multiple requests for payment.
Weidenmuller's lawsuit against Minaj and Petty stemmed from an incident at the show where a fan breached security and got on stage next to Minaj. When Weidenmuller intervened to calm the situation, he alleged that Minaj became upset and instructed Petty to strike him in the face without warning. Weidenmuller suffered serious injuries that required surgery to fix his jaw, leading to the court entering default judgments against Minaj and Petty in March 2024.
The ongoing legal battle has escalated to the point where Weidenmuller is seeking the sale of Minaj's mansion to recover the outstanding debt. Despite Minaj's financial status and the property's value, Weidenmuller believes that selling the mansion is necessary to ensure he receives the full amount owed to him. The court will decide the fate of Minaj's mansion as the legal proceedings continue.
