A new documentary exploring allegations of abuse against the late singer Michael Jackson is set to air on BBC Two. The three-part series, Legacy: Michael Jackson, will delve into the singer's rise to fame and feature interviews with individuals close to him, as well as rare archival footage.

In addition to the Michael Jackson documentary, BBC Two has commissioned other factual history shows. Escaping Idi Amin will focus on the story of Ugandan Asians who were forced to flee the country within 90 days by the dictator in 1972. The two-part documentary will feature interviews with those who experienced the departure period.

Simon Young, head of commissioning for history at the BBC, highlighted the diverse range of history programs being announced. From tales of Georgian Edinburgh to modern history through the lens of a controversial pop icon, the documentaries offer a glimpse into various historical events and figures.

Another documentary commissioned by the BBC is Captured By IS, which will recount the story of British photojournalist John Cantlie, who was kidnapped in Syria by the terrorist group Islamic State (IS) in 2012. The three-part series will feature interviews with fellow hostages, friends, investigators, and politicians, shedding light on Cantlie's harrowing experience.

Lucy Worsley's Victorian Murder Club is also set to premiere on BBC Two, with the TV historian investigating the Thames Torso Murderer, a contemporary of Jack the Ripper, in three episodes.
