Border Clashes Escalate Between Pakistan and Afghanistan: A Retaliation Saga

Border clashes erupted between Pakistan and Afghanistan as the Afghan Taliban launched attacks on Pakistani posts in response to a recent Pakistani air strike in Kabul. Pakistani security officials retaliated with full force against what they described as unprovoked firing from Afghanistan, resulting in exchanges of fire at multiple locations along the border. The Taliban claimed to have captured three Pakistani border posts, while Pakistani military forces reportedly destroyed several Afghan posts. Video footage showed intense gun and artillery firing towards Afghanistan, illuminating the night sky.
Enayatullah Khowarazmi, a spokesperson for Afghanistan’s Ministry of Defence, stated that the operation was a response to Pakistan's violation of Afghan airspace and ended at midnight local time. He warned of a strong response if Afghanistan's airspace was violated again. The clashes occurred along the 2,600km border between the two countries, with Islamabad accusing the Afghan Taliban of sheltering Pakistani Taliban militants who target Pakistan with alleged support from India. However, both New Delhi and the Taliban deny these accusations, with the Taliban asserting that they do not allow their territory to be used against other nations.
