U.S. Citizen Detained by ICE in Portland: Attorney Seeks Transparency and Accountability
A U.S. citizen in Portland, Oregon, was detained by plainclothes officers and held at the city’s U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement building for hours before being released, according to his attorney. Francisco Miranda was approached by multiple agents outside his workplace who claimed he was on an overstay. He was eventually returned to his workplace after several hours of detention.

The attorney representing Miranda, Michael Fuller, highlighted that this was the first known case of a U.S. citizen being detained on the grounds of being in the country illegally in Oregon.
