During a recent visit to New Zealand, FBI Director Kash Patel gifted local law enforcement and intelligence officials with replica pistols that were inoperable and illegal under New Zealand's gun laws. The plastic 3D-printed pistols were part of display stands given to senior security officials during Patel's visit to Wellington in July. The gifts had to be destroyed as they violated local regulations. Patel, a high-ranking official from the Trump administration, was in New Zealand to inaugurate the FBI's first independent office in the country. The gesture raised concerns and required the disposal of the replica pistols.
