Chaos at Chicago ICE Facility: Firearms Seized, Explosive Device Found, and Arrests Made

The Department of Homeland Security has shared images of firearms seized from individuals described as anti-ICE "rioters" in Chicago. An investigation has been initiated after the discovery of a potential explosive device near the Chicago ICE facility. The specific charges against the protesters have not been disclosed.

According to DHS, 11 individuals were arrested outside the ICE detention facility in Chicago, and two firearms were confiscated from the rioters. Authorities are looking into the discovery of what seems to be an explosive device near the ICE Chicago detention facility.

Federal law enforcement officers used pepper balls and tear gas to disperse anti-ICE protesters outside Chicago. This incident occurred shortly after a shooting at an ICE facility in Dallas, Texas, where one detainee was killed and two others were injured before the shooter took his own life.

Around 50 protesters gathered at an ICE processing center in Broadview, Illinois, with two individuals being arrested, one of whom was found in possession of a firearm. Video footage showed law enforcement attempting to remove the protesters from the area as they tried to block vehicles from leaving.

Recent clashes between protesters and ICE agents at the facility resulted in 16 arrests. The protesters engaged in violent behavior, including obstructing law enforcement, throwing tear gas cans, rocks, bottles, and fireworks, damaging vehicles, blocking the building entrance, and trespassing on private property. The DHS reported that rioters also assaulted law enforcement officials during the demonstration.

The ICE processing center in Broadview, Illinois, is currently serving as the primary site for Operation Midway Blitz, a significant immigration enforcement operation focused on Illinois. The situation remains tense as law enforcement continues to address the disruptions caused by protesters at the facility.
