Cardi B Joins Global Citizen Festival Lineup, Replacing The Weeknd: How to Attend for Free and Support Global Causes

Cardi B has been announced as a new addition to the lineup for the Global Citizen Festival in New York, replacing the Weeknd due to personal reasons. Cardi B expressed her excitement to perform at the festival and support the cause of helping children worldwide. The Global Citizen Festival will take place on Central Park’s Great Lawn on September 27, and tickets can be earned by taking action to help end extreme poverty through the Global Citizen app. The festival will be streamed live worldwide on various platforms, and a watch party will be held at Hudson Yards in the Public Square and Gardens. Cardi B recently released her second album, "Am I the Drama?," and announced her upcoming "Little Miss Drama" tour. The Weeknd concluded the North American leg of his tour and will resume performances in Mexico, Brazil, and Europe. The 2025 Global Citizen Festival campaign aims to provide energy access for 1 million people in Africa, ensure quality education for 30,000 children globally, protect the Amazon rainforest, and engage 40,000 New Yorkers in volunteering across the city.

The festival is presented by Cisco and has major partners like Authentic Brands Group, Delta Air Lines, PayPal, and Venmo. It is produced by production companies Done+Dusted and Diversified Production Services. The festival supports nonprofit organizations in New York City and partners with Goodera to provide volunteer opportunities for attendees to earn points towards festival tickets by offering career development mentorship to young individuals worldwide.
