Emaza Gibson Revives Lawsuit Against Jason Derulo and Atlantic Records: Allegations of Sexual Harassment and Hostile Behavior

A singer has revived her lawsuit against Jason Derulo and Atlantic Records, alleging sexual harassment and hostile behavior. Emaza Gibson, also known as Emaza Dilan, initially filed the lawsuit in Los Angeles but had it dismissed due to jurisdiction issues. She has now refiled the lawsuit in New York, citing discrimination, retaliation, breach of contract, and emotional distress under New York laws.
Gibson claims that Derulo approached her in 2021 to sign her for a joint venture between Atlantic Records and his label, Future History. She alleges that Derulo made inappropriate advances towards her, including pressuring her to drink alcohol and engaging in sexually explicit conversations. When she rejected his advances, Gibson claims Derulo became distant and eventually terminated her contract.
The lawsuit accuses Derulo of using his power to coerce Gibson into participating in degrading acts and retaliating against her when she refused. Gibson also alleges that Derulo physically intimidated her by screaming in her face without provocation. Despite Denying the allegations, Derulo's legal team has not responded to requests for comment on the matter.
Gibson expressed her devastation over the situation, stating that her dreams of a music career were shattered by the alleged misconduct. Derulo, on the other hand, has maintained his innocence and commitment to supporting aspiring artists in the industry. The legal battle between Gibson and Derulo continues as the singer seeks justice for the alleged mistreatment she faced.
