Miley Cyrus to Release Deluxe Edition of Something Beautiful with Rock Icon Collaborations
Miley Cyrus is set to release an expanded version of her Something Beautiful visual album. The deluxe edition of her ambitious LP will include the original album's 13 songs along with two new tracks featuring rock icons. One of the new songs, "Secrets," is a ballad featuring Mick Fleetwood and Lindsey Buckingham from Fleetwood Mac. Another collaboration on the album is with David Byrne on a track called "Lockdown." This is not the first time Cyrus has worked with Byrne, as they previously performed together on a New Year's Eve special in 2022.
"Secrets" was written by Cyrus as a birthday gift for her father, Billy Ray Cyrus. The emotional single was teased by the singer in a recent post where she shared a snippet of the song. Billy Ray mentioned in an Instagram story that the song features two of his favorite musicians from Fleetwood Mac. Something Beautiful, Cyrus's ninth studio album, was released in May and features collaborations with various artists, including members of Alvvays, Model/Actriz, the War on Drugs, Danielle Haim, Flea, Naomi Campbell, and Brittany Howard.
The album was accompanied by a musical film written and co-directed by Cyrus, which premiered at the Tribeca Festival earlier this year. The film was later shown in theaters for one night in June before becoming available for streaming on Hulu. The expanded version of Something Beautiful is set to be released on Friday, September 19, giving fans a chance to hear the new tracks and enjoy the visual album in its entirety.
