REFORM Alliance's Second Casino Night & Gala Raises $20 Million for Criminal Justice Reform
REFORM Alliance recently held its second Casino Night & Gala at Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City, raising over $20 million for criminal justice reform. The event, led by founders Michael Rubin, Shawn “JAY-Z” Carter, and Meek Mill, brought together leaders from various industries to support the nonprofit's mission of addressing probation and parole practices affecting millions of Americans. Since its inception in 2019, REFORM Alliance has successfully advocated for 22 bipartisan bills in 12 states, positively impacting over 850,000 individuals by implementing reforms like reducing probation terms and preventing unnecessary incarceration.
The gala featured a mix of fundraising and entertainment, with Kevin Hart as the host and notable attendees such as Beyoncé, Travis Scott, and Robert Kraft. The auction raised millions through items like a George Condo painting, a golf outing with Tom Brady, and a private concert by Megan Thee Stallion. Music played a significant role in the event, with performances by The Weeknd and surprise appearances by Quavo, DJ Khaled, and Ice Spice. The evening concluded with a blackjack tournament where Andrew Ramus won the $1 million prize.
With REFORM Alliance covering all administrative costs, 100 percent of the gala proceeds will directly support the organization's programming, including grassroots outreach, job fairs, and legislative advocacy. The successful event showcased the collective efforts of individuals from diverse backgrounds coming together to drive meaningful change in the criminal justice system.
