2025 Emmy Nominations: Severance, The Penguin, and Adolescence Lead the Pack

This year's Emmy nominations have been dominated by shows like Severance and The Penguin, with Adolescence also making a strong showing. The awards ceremony will be held at the Peacock Theater in L.A. and will be broadcast live on CBS and Paramount+ on Sunday at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. Severance, an Apple TV+ sci-fi series, leads with 27 nominations, followed closely by HBO's The Batman spin-off starring Colin Farrell. The Studio, another Apple TV+ show, received 23 nominations in the comedy categories, breaking a record previously held by Ted Lasso. The White Lotus also garnered 23 nominations, with its cast dominating the Supporting Acting in a Drama categories.
Kathy Bates, at 77, has become the oldest actor to be nominated for Best Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her role in Matlock. Owen Cooper, at 15, is the youngest person ever to be nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series for his performance in Adolescence. Harrison Ford received his first Emmy nomination for his role in Shrinking, while Beyoncé's Beyoncé Bowl is nominated for Best Variety Special. The Star Wars series Andor has been nominated for Best Drama. The eligibility period for TV series to be considered for the Emmys was between June 2024 and May 2025. The prime-time Emmys ceremony will be hosted by Nate Bargatze on September 14.
Some long-running shows like The Voice missed out on nominations this year, while Survivor returned to the Best Reality Competition category after not being nominated in 2024.
