Arrest Made in Connection with Assassination of Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University

A suspect has been arrested in connection with the assassination of Charlie Kirk on a Utah college campus. Kirk, a 31-year-old father of two, was shot while debating with students at Utah Valley University. President Trump confirmed the arrest on Fox & Friends but did not disclose the suspect's name.
Kirk, who was invited to speak by the campus chapter of Turning Point USA, was struck in the neck by a single shot while sitting under a tent. Trump expressed hope that the suspect would receive the death penalty if found guilty and detailed how the suspect was located with the help of various individuals.
Witnesses at the scene reacted in horror as Kirk was shot and later pronounced dead at the hospital. Video footage suggests the shot came from a rooftop about 200 yards away. Investigators recovered a high-powered rifle along the suspect's escape route and found evidence linking the suspect to the crime.
The FBI released images of a person of interest in the shooting and collected surveillance footage from nearby homes. The investigation is ongoing, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
