Turning Point USA Founder Charlie Kirk's Shooting Death at Utah Event Sparks Investigation
Authorities are currently investigating the shooting death of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk in Utah. Two individuals, George Zinn and Zachariah Qureshi, were initially arrested but later released as they had no connection to the murder. The FBI and Utah Department of Public Safety stated that Kirk was killed in a targeted attack during a TPUSA event at Utah Valley University (UVU) in Orem. The shooter is believed to have fired from the roof of a nearby building. Law enforcement agencies are reviewing multiple crime scenes in connection with the incident.
UVU's police department had six officers present at the event, along with Kirk's private security team. Kirk was addressing students during an outdoor Q&A session when a single shot was fired, causing chaos among the attendees. Videos on social media showed an older man being arrested at the scene. FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed that a subject was arrested, questioned, and subsequently released in connection with the investigation.
