Dua Lipa's Radical Optimism Tour: Celebrating Hometown Artists Around the World

Dua Lipa has been showcasing her love for hometown artists by performing covers of their iconic songs during her Radical Optimism tour stops in various cities. In Boston, she paid tribute to Aerosmith with a rendition of their hit song "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" at TD Garden, surrounded by her band on stage.

During her Chicago shows, Lipa delighted fans with covers of Chaka Khan's "Ain't Nobody" and Earth, Wind & Fire's "September," along with a surprise appearance by Chaka Khan herself. This tradition of honoring local artists began during her tour in Australia and New Zealand, where she covered songs by AC/DC, Lorde, and Kylie Minogue, and featured surprise guests like Troye Sivan and Tame Impala.

In Europe, Lipa continued to pay homage to hometown heroes by performing Enrique Iglesias' "Hero" in Madrid, Jamiroquai's "Virtual Insanity" in London with Jay Kay, and Charli XCX's "360" with Charli XCX. She also collaborated with artists like Dave McCabe in Liverpool for a rendition of the Zutons' "Valerie" and performed The Beatles' "Hey Jude" in their birthplace. In Dublin, she honored Sinead O'Connor with a cover of "Nothing Compares 2 U."

Dua Lipa's Radical Optimism tour is ongoing in the U.S., with upcoming shows in Atlanta, a four-day run at Madison Square Garden in September, and a four-day stint at Kia Forum in Los Angeles in October. The tour will then head to South America in November, showcasing Lipa's dedication to celebrating local music legends throughout her global journey.
