Tragic Incident in Bellerose: Couple Set on Fire in Home, Suspect at Large
A tragic incident occurred in Bellerose, Queens, where a couple lost their lives after being set on fire in their home. The incident took place on 254th Street around 3:20 p.m. Authorities are searching for a suspect responsible for starting the fire.
Upon investigation, it was revealed that a 77-year-old man was found tied to a pole in the basement with injuries all over his body. His 78-year-old wife was also discovered in the basement, suffering severe burns. The couple's son, who is a member of the FDNY, was not present during the fire.
Surveillance footage captured a man between 30 and 40 years old, wearing specific clothing, walking near the home. The neighbors, who have known the couple for years, expressed their shock and grief by leaving candles and flowers outside the residence.
