Remembering Fletcher Merkel: A Celebration of Life

A funeral service is scheduled for 8-year-old Fletcher Merkel, one of the children who tragically lost their lives in the mass shooting at Annunciation Catholic Church. The service will be held at Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church on Sunday, September 7, with visitation starting at 2 p.m. and the funeral at 4 p.m. The family has requested attendees to wear bright colors and consider contributing to a fund created in Fletcher's memory.
Fletcher Merkel was a vibrant and creative young boy with sparkling blue eyes, freckles, and an infectious smile. He loved being active, playing sports, building Lego cities, and trying new recipes with his family. Fletcher had a passion for animals and enjoyed studying and releasing various creatures. He also had a love for travel, exploring different countries with his family. His generous love and joyful spirit touched the lives of his friends and family.
Fletcher Merkel will be deeply missed by his mother, father, siblings, dog, and extended family members. He brought joy and laughter to those around him and will be remembered for his adventurous spirit and kind heart. The funeral service will be a celebration of his life and the impact he had on those who knew him.
