Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton speculated that Swift might be absent from the ceremony to support her fiancé, Travis Kelce, at a football game in Brazil. Despite the speculation, it was later confirmed that Swift did not attend the game, where the Kansas City Chiefs faced off against the Los Angeles Chargers. This absence would mark Swift's first time missing the MTV VMAs since 2021. Last year, she took home seven awards, including 'Artist of the Year.' Swift is nominated for the same category this year, competing against other top artists. With 30 VMA trophies to her name, Swift is tied with Beyoncé as the most awarded artist in the history of the VMAs.
