A Labor Day celebration in Brooklyn turned violent with multiple shootings and a slashing incident following the West Indian Day Parade, as reported by the NYPD. The incidents occurred at different locations in Crown Heights as parade attendees dispersed in the late afternoon and early evening.

The first incident involved a woman in her 40s and a man in his 20s being shot near 1098 Eastern Parkway. Both victims were hospitalized and are in stable condition. Shortly after, a man was slashed near Eastern Parkway and Nostrand Avenue, sustaining multiple injuries but refusing medical treatment and cooperation with investigators.

Two men were shot in the shoulder near Classon Avenue and Eastern Parkway, with one taken to Kings County Hospital and the other arriving by private means, both in stable condition. A 53-year-old man was struck in the neck and leg outside Yard Pot Restaurant and Bakery, while a 40-year-old woman was shot in the ankle; the man is in critical condition, and the woman is stable.

A person of interest is in custody, but no details on connections between the incidents have been provided by the police. The victims' identities have not been disclosed, and no charges have been announced as the investigation continues.
