21-Year-Old Arrested for Vehicular Homicide in Largo Fatal Crash

A 21-year-old man named Adarius Hayes has been arrested by the Largo Police Department and charged with three counts of Vehicular Homicide and one count of Reckless Driving with Serious Bodily Injury in connection with a fatal crash that occurred on May 10, 2025, at the intersection of Orange View Drive and Ridge Road. Hayes turned himself in to the authorities on August 29, 2025, and was taken to the Pinellas County Jail.

The crash, which took place at around 1:43 PM, involved a Dodge Durango driven by Hayes and a Kia Soul. Two children, Jabari Elijah Solomon (10 years old) and Charlie Herbert Solomon Riveria (4 years old), were ejected from the Kia Soul and pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Kia Soul, 78-year-old Gail Price, sustained life-threatening injuries and passed away the following day. The front passenger, 58-year-old Herbert Riveria, survived with serious injuries.

The investigation revealed that Hayes was driving at a high speed and making dangerous lane changes prior to the crash. He was traveling at 70.8 mph five seconds before impact and accelerated to 78.9 mph in a 40 mph zone at the time of the collision. The reckless driving behavior of Hayes, including speeding and aggressive lane changes, directly led to the deaths of the three victims.

The Largo Police Department's Traffic Homicide Unit conducted a thorough investigation, speaking with witnesses, reviewing surveillance footage, and analyzing the vehicles involved. The State Attorney's Office collaborated with the police to secure a search warrant for Hayes' vehicle, confirming his excessive speed and reckless driving actions.
