The MTV Video Music Awards have announced that newcomers Conan Gray and Tate McRae will be making their performance debut on the VMA stage next month. They will be joined by seasoned performers like Doja Cat, who will be performing her new single "Jealous Type," and Jelly Roll, who is competing in four categories. Post Malone, a six-time VMA winner, is also set to perform alongside them. These artists will be part of a star-studded lineup for this year's VMAs.

Other confirmed performers for the VMAs include Rhymes, Martin, Alex Warren, J Balvin, Sabrina Carpenter, and sombr. Warren, who is nominated for best new artist, best pop, and song of the year, will be performing his hit song "Ordinary." Balvin will be performing with Latin singers Justin Quiles and Lenny Tavárez, while Carpenter will be performing "Manchild." McRae, who is up for four nominations, will also be taking the stage at the VMAs.

The 2025 MTV Video Music Awards will be airing on September 7 at 8 p.m. Eastern from the UBS Arena on New York's Long Island. This year's VMAs will also introduce two new awards honoring artists in the rap and Latin music genres. Rapper Busta Rhymes will receive the Rock the Bells Visionary Award, and Ricky Martin will be honored with the Latin Icon Award. LL Cool J will be hosting the VMAs this year, and the show will be broadcast on CBS, MTV, and Paramount+ for streaming in the United States.

Lady Gaga leads this year's nominations with 12 nods, followed closely by Bruno Mars with 11. Gaga's duet with Mars, "Die with a Smile," is up for four awards, including song of the year. Other top nominees include Kendrick Lamar, ROSÉ, Sabrina Carpenter, Ariana Grande, The Weeknd, and Billie Eilish. Fan voting for the VMAs is currently open on the VMA website, with voting closing on September 5 at 6 p.m. Eastern.
