Seattle Police Identify Suspect in Home Invasion Robberies Targeting Athletes and Macklemore

Seattle police have identified a suspect, Patrick Maisonet, in connection with a series of home invasion robberies targeting Seattle-area athletes and the artist Macklemore. The suspect was arrested in Renton and is believed to be the primary suspect in the case. A pawn shop in South Seattle was raided, leading to the recovery of stolen jewelry, including items belonging to Macklemore. The owner of the pawn shop has been booked into the King County Jail on suspicion of trafficking stolen property.

Detectives recovered thousands of dollars worth of jewelry, watches, and rings during the investigation. Some of the stolen items are believed to belong to athletes and entertainers who were victims of the robberies. Maisonet is considered the primary suspect, with at least one other suspect still at large. Detectives are preparing to refer criminal charges to the King County Prosecutor’s Office in connection with the home invasion robberies.

The home invasion at Macklemore’s Capitol Hill residence occurred while the rapper was out of town. The suspects attacked a nanny with bear spray and restrained her while three children were inside the home. The incident took place shortly after the arrest of Earl Riley, who was linked to multiple home invasion burglaries involving athletes. It is unclear if Riley and Maisonet were working together in these crimes.

Maisonet has a criminal history that includes robbery, assault, residential burglary, theft, kidnapping, and unlawful possession of a firearm. He has had multiple arrest warrants issued against him since 2009, with one active at the time of his arrest. Maisonet was also involved in a high-profile shooting and carjacking on I-5 in Seattle in 2016. The investigation into the home invasion robberies is ongoing, and detectives are urging anyone who recognizes stolen items in the recovered jewelry to contact the police with proof of ownership.
