Ford Motor Company Announces Massive Recall of Nearly 500,000 Vehicles in the US

Ford Motor Company has announced another recall affecting nearly 500,000 vehicles in the US due to a brake fluid leak issue. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported that a ruptured hose in the brake system could lead to fluid leakage, potentially increasing stopping distances and the risk of a crash. Despite no reported accidents or injuries related to the problem, Ford has received 64 warranty claims, three field reports, and 16 customer complaints. The recall includes Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX SUVs from model years 2015 to 2018, with affected vehicles displaying altered brake feel or a red brake fluid alert on the dashboard. Owners will be notified when replacement parts are available for a free fix.

In addition to the brake fluid leak recall, Ford is also recalling over 213,000 vehicles for faulty tail lights and 100,900 vehicles due to the risk of airbag tear upon deployment. This comes after a recent recall of 355,000 trucks for a software glitch. With a total of 105 recalls issued this year, Ford has set a record for the most recalls by an automaker in a single year, surpassing other major automakers like Chrysler, Volkswagen, GM, Mercedes-Benz, and Honda. Despite the high number of recalls, Ford continues to prioritize safety and aims to address any potential issues promptly. Owners of affected vehicles will be informed when they can bring their cars to the dealership for necessary repairs. Stay tuned for updates on this developing story.
