Former Border Patrol Agent Sentenced to Federal Prison for Deprivation of Rights

A former border patrol agent from the North Country, Shane Millan, has been sentenced to a year in federal prison for two misdemeanor counts of deprivation of rights under color of law. The sentencing occurred in federal court in Syracuse. Millan, who is 53 years old and hails from Jefferson County, confessed to instructing victims to expose their bare chests during virtual processing. He acknowledged that his demands were for his own gratification, despite claiming they were legitimate searches for admission into the United States.
