Powerball Jackpot Reaches $815 Million: 38th Consecutive Drawing Without a Winner

The Powerball jackpot has reached an impressive $815 million after no one claimed the grand prize in the latest drawing. This marks the 38th consecutive drawing without a jackpot winner since May 31. The winning numbers for the last drawing were 16, 19, 34, 37, 64, and the red Powerball 22, with a power play of 3.

Despite the lack of a jackpot winner, two lucky players from Georgia and Texas matched all five white balls to win $1 million each. The next drawing is scheduled for Wednesday, August 27, at 10:59 p.m. ET. The anticipation for a massive Powerball jackpot win is building up once again, as stated by Matt Strawn, the Powerball product group chair and Iowa Lottery CEO.

The current jackpot of $815 million ranks as the 10th-largest in Powerball history, with the record-breaking $2.04 billion prize won in California in November 2022 leading the list. Other notable Powerball jackpots include a $1.765 billion prize claimed in California last October, a $1.586 billion jackpot split between winners in California, Florida, and Tennessee in January 2016, and a $1.326 billion prize won in Oregon in April this year. Only nine other Powerball jackpots have surpassed the current estimated prize.

Players from 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands can purchase $2 tickets for a chance to win the Powerball jackpot. The odds of winning the grand prize are 1 in 292.2 million. With the jackpot continuing to grow, the excitement and anticipation for the next drawing are palpable.
