Kentucky Woman Faces Felony Charge for Extensive Vandalism of Ex-Boyfriend's Car

A woman from Kentucky is facing a felony charge for causing extensive damage to her ex-boyfriend's car. Stephanie Carlquist has been accused of criminal mischief for leaving the vehicle in a state that was deemed irreparable by the police. Over a two-week period in July, Carlquist allegedly poured salt into the engine, dumped glitter in the air vents, slashed a tire, cracked the windshield and rearview mirror, and damaged the radio screen. The victim reported that the car had to be towed and was ultimately declared a total loss, with Goodyear estimating the damage at over $12,000.

Court documents reveal that Carlquist confessed to the vandalism in messages sent to the victim, where she admitted to putting glitter in the air vents and damaging the windshield. She is currently in custody at the Madison County Detention Center on a $12,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court for arraignment on Monday, August 18.
