Federal Firearm Charge Filed Against Montianez Merriweather in Downtown Cincinnati Altercation Case

One of the individuals implicated in a highly publicized downtown Cincinnati altercation is now facing a federal firearm charge. Montianez Merriweather, aged 34, has been accused of unlawfully possessing a gun as a previously convicted felon. The incident, which occurred on July 26 and was captured on video, led to Merriweather's arrest last month. He is one of six individuals charged in connection to the violent brawl, with a seventh person facing robbery charges related to the incident. Investigators revealed that Merriweather was in possession of a firearm on July 2, a violation of his status as a convicted felon. U.S. Attorney Dominick S. Gerace II emphasized the consequences of violent behavior, stating that those who engage in such acts will be held accountable under federal law.
Merriweather has already made a court appearance for charges of felonious assault and aggravated rioting.
