Taylor Swift's 12th Album 'The Life of a Showgirl': Mystery Billboards, Spotify Playlist, and Album Details Revealed

Taylor Swift recently confirmed her 12th album, The Life of a Showgirl, and fans quickly noticed mysterious billboards in New York City and Nashville. These billboards led fans to a new Spotify playlist titled “And, baby, that’s show business for you,” curated by Swift. The playlist includes 22 of Swift’s songs produced by Max Martin and Shellback, who have worked on her previous albums Red, 1989, and Reputation.

Max Martin and Shellback have been behind some of Swift’s biggest hits, helping her transition from country to pop music on her fourth album, Red. Swift has also collaborated with Jack Antonoff and Aaron Dessner on recent projects. The announcement of The Life of a Showgirl came during a teaser for the New Heights podcast, where Swift revealed the album cover in a mint green case with her initials on it.

While the official release date for The Life of a Showgirl has not been confirmed, indications suggest a fall release. Fans pre-ordering the vinyl on Swift’s website are informed that it will “ship before 10/13/25,” although this is not the release date. Swift’s episode on the New Heights podcast is set to premiere on Wednesday, Aug. 13, where she will unveil more details about the album.

Swifties were quick to investigate when New Heights teased a special guest appearance, which turned out to be Taylor Swift herself. The anticipation for The Life of a Showgirl is building as fans eagerly await more information about the upcoming album.
