K-Pop Dominance: Billboard's World Albums Chart Update for August 9

The latest World Albums chart by Billboard for the week ending on August 9 has been released! TXT claimed the top spot with their new album "The Star Chapter: TOGETHER," which reached No. 1 after its delayed physical release in the United States. This album also debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200, making TXT the K-pop artist with the most top 5 entries in the history of the chart.
BTS's live album "PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE – LIVE" secured the No. 2 position in its second week on the World Albums chart and maintained its place on the Billboard 200 at No. 125. Additionally, BTS's 2022 anthology album "Proof" remained at No. 8 in its 164th week on the World Albums chart, with Jimin's solo album "MUSE" at No. 15 (in its 54th week) and Jin's solo mini album "Echo" at No. 19 (in its 11th week).
ATEEZ's "GOLDEN HOUR : Part.3" continued its strong performance at No. 3 in its seventh week on the World Albums chart and spent a fifth week on the Billboard 200 at No. 187. ENHYPEN's "DESIRE : UNLEASH" secured the No. 4 spot in its ninth week on the chart, while their previous album "ROMANCE : UNTOLD" maintained its position at No. 18 in its 55th week.
ILLIT's latest mini album "bomb" made a comeback to No. 5 in its sixth week on the chart. Stray Kids had a total of four albums on the World Albums chart this week, with their special album "合 (HOP)" at No. 9 (in its 33rd week), followed by their 2024 mini album "ATE" at No. 13 (in its 54th week), their 2023 album "★★★★★ (5-STAR)" at No. 23 (in its 50th week), and their 2023 mini album "ROCK-STAR" at No. 24 (in its 38th week).
SEVENTEEN's "HAPPY BURSTDAY" completed its 10th week on the chart at No. 14, while NewJeans' "Get Up" maintained its position at No. 17 in its 99th week. Lastly, BLACKPINK's 2020 album "THE ALBUM" stayed at No. 22 in its 109th non-consecutive week on the chart.
