President Trump Nominates Tammy Bruce as Deputy U.N. Ambassador
President Trump announced his nomination of State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce as the next deputy representative to the United Nations. If confirmed by the Senate, Bruce will receive the rank of ambassador. It remains to be seen who will replace her in the State Department. Meanwhile, Trump has also nominated Mike Waltz as the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, but his confirmation has faced delays. The U.N. ambassador position has been vacant since the beginning of Trump's second term. If both Bruce and Waltz are confirmed, Bruce will serve under Waltz and assume the U.N. ambassador's duties in his absence. Prior to her government role, Bruce was a Fox News contributor and hosted a show on the network's streaming service.
