Missed Connection: Hunter Doohan's Regret Over Not Meeting Lady Gaga on the Set of Wednesday

Hunter Doohan missed the chance to meet Lady Gaga during her guest-starring appearance on the second season of the popular Netflix series, Wednesday. Lady Gaga's cameo was confirmed by Netflix in November 2024, with her character yet to be revealed in the first part of the season. Fans are eagerly anticipating her appearance in the second part, set to be released on September 3, 2025. Lady Gaga filmed her scenes in Ireland, but Doohan, who plays Tyler/ Hyde, expressed disappointment at not being present during her filming.

In a recent interview on the Just for Variety podcast, Doohan humorously expressed his frustration at missing the opportunity to meet Lady Gaga, jokingly calling it a "hate crime." Lady Gaga's involvement in the show came after fans paired Jenna Ortega's dance scene from season one with Gaga's song "Bloody Mary," creating a viral TikTok trend. This led to Lady Gaga's participation in Netflix Tudum 2025: The Live Event, where she performed a medley of her songs. Despite attending the event, Doohan still did not get the chance to meet Lady Gaga.

Lady Gaga confirmed in March 2025 that she worked with Jenna Ortega for her scenes in the show, expressing her love for the actress and the enjoyable experience. While Doohan may have missed out on meeting Lady Gaga, his character, Tyler/ Hyde, is set to undergo significant developments in season two, with the first part ending on a major cliffhanger. Doohan teased that there are more mysteries and a crazy arc ahead for Tyler in the upcoming episodes.
