Sinatra's Jazz Legends: The Giants of Jazz Collection

Frank Sinatra achieved great success in the 1960s with his hit single "Somethin' Stupid" featuring his daughter Nancy Sinatra. During this time, he also collaborated with jazz legends Count Basie and Duke Ellington on full-length albums. A new double-vinyl collection titled The Giants of Jazz, set to be released on Sept. 26 by UMe and Frank Sinatra Enterprises, features remastered recordings of these iconic collaborations. The collection includes the albums It Might as Well Be Swing with Basie and His Orchestra and Francis A. & Edward K. with Ellington, presented in a new gatefold jacket design with rare photographs and original artwork.

It Might as Well Be Swing, released in 1964, showcased Sinatra's partnership with Count Basie and his orchestra on tracks like "The Best Is Yet to Come" and the popular "Fly Me to the Moon (In Other Words)." This album marked the first collaboration between Sinatra and Quincy Jones, who arranged the tracks. The release reached No. 13 on the charts and included hits like "More" and "Hello, Dolly," earning critical acclaim and multiple Grammy nominations.

Francis A. & Edward K., released in 1968, brought together Frank Sinatra and Duke Ellington for a memorable collaboration. The album featured standout tracks like "Indian Summer" with saxophonist Johnny Hodges and arrangements by Billy May. Both Sinatra and Ellington received lifetime achievement awards from the Recording Academy, solidifying their status as music legends.

The Giants of Jazz collection celebrates the timeless music created by these iconic artists and is now available for pre-order. This release is part of a series of reissues of Frank Sinatra's music, with a special 4-inch Tiny Vinyl Edition of "Jingle Bells/Silent Night" also set to be released soon.
