Tom Holland recently reminisced about his memorable Lip Sync Battle performance from 2017 during a cooking segment with Gordon Ramsay. Holland recalled wearing his granny's fishnets for the performance, which featured Rihanna's "Umbrella." The actor and his now-fiancée Zendaya appeared on the show while co-starring in Spider-Man: Homecoming and got engaged in January. Holland revealed that the performance showcased his dancing skills, which surprised many fans.
Despite initially planning to keep the performance "easy breezy," Holland's Lip Sync Battle act became more elaborate as rehearsals progressed. He shared that the creative team suggested the "Umbrella" concept, which eventually led to incorporating a rain machine, fishnets, a wig, and quick costume changes. Holland's father, director Dominic Holland, expressed concerns about the performance, fearing his son's rapid rise to fame.
Holland humorously reflected on the enduring popularity of his Lip Sync Battle performance, noting that it often overshadows his other work. He jokingly mentioned that the video continues to resurface, much to his amusement. Despite the attention garnered by the Lip Sync Battle act, Holland has continued to focus on his acting career, recently reprising his role as Spider-Man for Marvel's upcoming film Spider-Man: Brand New Day, set to release in 2026.
