Music Musings with The Dare: Insights on Kacey Musgraves, Justin Bieber, and Collaborations

During a break from his Lollapalooza weekend, The Dare sat down with Rolling Stone for a segment called “Song Shuffle” where he shared his thoughts on music. The first song that came up was Kacey Musgraves’ “Velvet Elvis,” which he described as playful and dancey, though not his favorite. He praised Musgraves’ album "Golden Hour" as one of the greatest albums of all time and mentioned that it was a gateway into country music for him.
Next, The Dare discussed Justin Bieber’s new album, SWAG, specifically the track “405,” which he felt could have used some editing. He listened to the album on a flight back from Japan and enjoyed some of the singles but found the album to be too long. He believes that albums with a conceptual edge are more appealing and prefers albums with 9 to 14 tracks and a runtime under forty minutes.
The Dare also shared his thoughts on the ideal length of an album and mentioned that he is set to release his EP Freakquencies: Vol. 1 later this month. He talked about working with PinkPantheress on her song “Stateside” and praised her as an awesome collaborator with whom he had a great working relationship. The Dare described their creative process as fun and easy, highlighting their productive and exciting dynamic in the studio.
