Israel's Ambassador Criticizes Iran at UN Security Council Session Following US Strikes

Israel's Ambassador to the United Nations, Danny Danon, criticized Iran's UN representative as a "wolf in sheep's clothing" during a tense Security Council session. The US had recently launched strikes on nuclear sites in Iran, prompting Iran's Ambassador to call for an emergency meeting of the Security Council to condemn the US actions. Iran accused the US of violating international law with its premeditated and unprovoked strikes.
Danon, in response to Iran's allegations against Israel, pointed out the hypocrisy of the council and referred to the Iranian representative as a "wolf in sheep's clothing." He emphasized that Iran, a regime known for supporting terrorism, should not seek compassion from the Council. Following the US strikes on Iran's nuclear sites, Danon expressed that Iran was trying to play the victim and seek sympathy from the Security Council.
The US strikes on Iran included bunker buster bombs on the Fordow nuclear site and Tomahawk missiles on sites in Natanz and Isfahan. Danon commended President Trump for taking action to prevent Iran from threatening Israel and the free world. He criticized the UN for allowing Iran to advance its nuclear weapons program and praised the US for promoting peace through strength.
UN Secretary General Guterres expressed grave concern over the US's use of force against Iran, calling it a dangerous escalation that could have catastrophic consequences. He urged member states to de-escalate the situation and uphold their obligations under international law. Meanwhile, an Iranian missile attack on Israel resulted in significant damage to cities like Tel Aviv, Haifa, and Nes Ziona, causing injuries but no immediate fatalities.
Israeli authorities reported widespread destruction in the affected cities, with buildings damaged and residents evacuated to hospitals. Tel Aviv's Mayor confirmed extensive damage but emphasized that human life was preserved, thanks to timely sheltering. The Israeli home front command reinstated emergency measures in response to the missile attack, reinstating restrictions on commercial centers and gatherings.
