Taylor Swift Legal Battle: Blake Lively Seeks Protective Order Against Justin Baldoni's Access to Private Messages

A Taylor Swift popup kiosk at The Grove attracted long lines of fans eager to visit. The legal battle between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni has taken a new turn as Lively sought a protective order against Baldoni's request for access to private text messages involving Swift. However, Judge Lewis Liman denied the motion, stating that the requests for messages with Swift were relevant to the harassment and retaliation claims made by Lively. Lively's representative vowed to continue fighting against Baldoni's attempts to exploit Swift's popularity.

The court also denied the motion to compel documents from Lively, highlighting that she had already provided more documents than the Wayfarer Parties combined. Baldoni's team had previously subpoenaed Swift but later withdrew the request. The ongoing legal dispute has seen Baldoni's persistent efforts to involve Swift, which Lively's representative criticized as a distraction from the serious accusations of sexual harassment and retaliation faced by Baldoni and the Wayfarer parties.

Representatives for Baldoni and Swift did not immediately respond to requests for comment. Swift was initially subpoenaed as a witness in the Lively-Baldoni dispute, but the request was withdrawn. Swift's spokesperson clarified that her involvement in the film "It Ends With Us" was limited to licensing her song "My Tears Ricochet" for the movie. The legal battle between Baldoni and Lively is set to proceed to trial in March 2026.
