Suga of BTS Nearing Completion of Alternative Military Service: Full Group Reunion on the Horizon

K-pop sensation Suga from BTS is nearing the completion of his alternative mandatory military service, as announced by his agency. BigHit Music revealed that Suga, a rapper and producer, is close to finishing his service as a social work personnel. While the exact discharge date was not disclosed, reports suggest it will be on June 21. Suga opted for social service due to a shoulder surgery he underwent in 2020.

BigHit Music emphasized that there will be no special events on the day of Suga's discharge and urged fans not to visit the discharge site to avoid overcrowding. The label expressed gratitude for the fans' continuous support and assured that the company will continue to support its artists diligently.

With Suga's impending discharge, all seven members of BTS will have fulfilled their mandatory military service obligations, setting the stage for a full-group reunion. BTS, the first K-pop group to dominate major music charts in the U.S., recently came together at the final stop of J-Hope's world tour in Goyang, South Korea, where Jin and Jungkook made appearances on stage.

Speculation about a complete group comeback in 2025 or 2026 has been circulating, but HYBE, the band's agency, has indicated that the members require time for reflection and preparation. Earlier this month, RM, V, Jungkook, and Jimin completed their military service, while Jin and J-Hope finished theirs in 2024.
