ICE Raids in Los Angeles: Arrests of Illegal Immigrant Suspects and Calls for Law Enforcement Support
The Department of Homeland Security has released information about the arrest of more than a dozen illegal immigrant suspects accused of various crimes in Los Angeles. The arrests were made following ICE raids that resulted in the apprehension of numerous illegal aliens with criminal backgrounds. The suspects arrested by ICE Los Angeles on June 7 are facing charges ranging from robbery to second-degree murder to rape. DHS emphasized the efforts of ICE officers in removing dangerous individuals from the streets of LA, contrasting it with the opposition from local leaders and protesters.
Sheriff Chad Bianco of Riverside County criticized the actions of agitators in downtown LA, stating that their behavior goes against the rule of law and undermines the foundation of a civilized society. He called out Governor Gavin Newsom for not taking appropriate action and accused him of fueling the unrest. The sheriff emphasized the importance of upholding the law and holding individuals accountable for their actions.
Among the suspects arrested, Cuong Chanh Phan, a Vietnamese national, was convicted of second-degree murder for a violent incident at a high school graduation party in 1994. ICE also apprehended individuals like Cielo Vivar-Ubaldo, Jose Cristobal Hernandez-Buitron, Julian Riveros-Cadavid, Chrissahdah Tooy, Rolando Veneracion-Enriquez, Jordan Mauricio Meza-Esquibel, Jesus Alan Hernandez-Morales, Delfino Aguilar-Martinez, Victor Mendoza-Aguilar, Jose Gregorio Medranda Ortiz, Francisco Sanchez-Arguello, Armando Ordaz, Lionel Sanchez-Laguna, Arturo Diaz-Perez, Juan Antonio Flores-Felician, Felimon Alejo-Garcia, Diego Hernando Quinones-Alvarado, and Russell Gomez-Dzul, who have criminal histories involving various offenses.
The escalating violence and assaults on law enforcement during the protests have prompted the federal government to call in the California National Guard for additional support. DHS emphasized the need for politicians to de-escalate the situation and ensure the safety of citizens, law enforcement, and public property. The agency urged Governor Newsom and Mayor Karen Bass to put an end to the riots and support the enforcement efforts of ICE officers.
