Tourists Rescued by Firefighters After Cliffside Phone Mishap Near San Francisco
Two tourists had to be rescued by California firefighters after climbing down a cliff near San Francisco in search of a dropped phone. The incident occurred between Mile Rock Beach and Deadman’s Point on Saturday, June 7, according to the San Francisco Fire Department. The tourists were admiring the Golden Gate Bridge when one of them accidentally dropped their phone over the edge around 3:30 p.m. They decided to climb down the cliff to retrieve the phone but ended up getting stuck. Rescuers had to use ropes to save them in an operation that lasted about an hour. Fortunately, the tourists were unharmed, but they were issued a ticket and could face fines of up to $300 each. Reports indicate that the visitors are from Seattle.
