Florida Teacher Arrested for Sending Nude Snapchat to Student: Mother Speaks Out

A mother in Florida is speaking out after her son allegedly received a nude Snapchat from his teacher, leading to the teacher's arrest. The incident occurred at Haile Middle School in Bradenton, where the teacher, Oliver Fell, was accused of sending sexually suggestive images and messages to the 14-year-old student. The boy's mother, Beverly Hernandez, expressed disappointment in the school's handling of the situation, claiming they labeled her son a "liar" and suspended him while the teacher kept her job.

Fell, 28, turned herself in to authorities and faces charges of lewd contact with a student by an authority figure and transmission of harmful material to a minor. The school resource officer obtained evidence of the inappropriate communication between the teacher and student, leading to Fell's arrest. Despite the allegations being made in March, it wasn't until May that Fell was reassigned from her teaching role.

Parents and school officials expressed concerns over the delay in reassigning Fell and the handling of the investigation. The school principal assured parents that once law enforcement confirmed the allegations, Fell was immediately removed from her position at the school. However, Hernandez claims she had to report the case to Child Protective Services herself, as the school and resource officer had not taken action after learning of the accusations.

Fell, who had been with the school district for four years and had no prior criminal record, was ordered to stay away from the student involved and all minors. Her bond was set at $20,000, and she can only be in the presence of juvenile family members under supervision. The incident has raised concerns about the school's response to such allegations and the need for proper protocols to be followed in cases of misconduct involving students and teachers.
