A lightning strike hit a house in Southern California, surprising a mother and her two children who were nearby. Tiffanie Buckner was recording the lightning as storms approached, capturing the moment when a large bolt hit a home behind her daughter, Penelope. The loud and immediate sound made them all jump and run towards the camera. Despite the scare, Penelope quickly recovered and wanted to go back outside once the rain started. Thunderstorms are uncommon in Southern California, with less than 10 days a year on average having reported lightning. The storms on Tuesday threatened to bring small hail, gusty winds, lightning, and heavy rain to the area. The kids were unharmed and enjoyed the storm, now having an exciting story to share.
